selecting an existing sketchbook to salvage

I chose a partially used Moleskine concertina book, because I hadn't fully used it and indeed had lost heart in working in it as it had been with me when I was in Maui at the time that my mother passed here at home.

Nearly five and a half years have passed since then, so I felt able to pick it up again. There were a few things worth salvaging but most of it feels as though I can let it go.

You may have something similar in your collection. It is actually quite a good practice to go through old notebooks from time to time in any event, to see what leaps dancing to the eye, re-read things you had forgotten and perhaps be inspired by a chance observation you made long ago. Doubtless you will want to keep many of your notebooks just as they are, but it's worth looking one the off chance that something may offer itself up for a fresh adventure.
