This course offers a look over my shoulder as I play with shape and form, using a t-shirt as bodice on which to build unique skirt-shapes.
It is a compendium of ideas that offers a design vocabulary you can enlist in creating your own t-shirt dress, whether from new materials such as the kit offered by Beautiful Silks, or refreshing tired but beloved wearables from your own wardrobe.
It comprises a range of design drawings from which you can intermingle concepts and details as well as videos in which you will be able to follow me exploring ideas, playing with scissors and making spontaneous decisions using the materials to hand.
It is assumed you will have basic sewing skills and are not afraid of the occasional raw edge.

India Flint has been happily threading needles and stitching scraps together since she was three years old.
She was guided in sewing by her mother and grandmother :: the former with an insistence on perfection and bound button-holes (that has somehow worn off) but generous access to a fabulous ragbag and the latter by her nifty trick of measuring cloth using her hands and arms and free-cutting dresses that always fitted.
